This Cough Assist training course will raise awareness, skills and knowledge in relation to safe usage of cough assist.

• Develop an understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the respiratory system
• Gain an understanding of cough assist – indications, contra indications and complications
• Common conditions that require cough assist intervention
• Signs and symptoms indicating cough assist is required and how to administer
• Complications that can arise from cough assist usage
• Have a understanding of person-centred care, documentation and infection control
• Practical Demonstration
• Practical Session for Participants

Outcomes

Workbook, practical competency in cough assist and a certificate upon successful completion.
