This stoma training course will raise awareness, skills and knowledge in stoma care.

Develop an understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the digestive system and urinary system
Be able to define what a stoma is, its purpose and the different types
List common medical conditions that may require a Stoma.
Risks associated with a Stoma, potential complications and how to reduce them.
Apply infection control measures in Stoma care.
Understand and demonstrate the use of different Stoma appliances and emptying and changing process.
Identify and resolve common Stoma care issues.

Varies according to the course but we have courses for HCA’s, Health Care Workers, Home Care Workers, Care Home Workers, leads or link nurses, care staff champions, community staff nurses, district nurses, practice nurses, Nursing Associates, Nurses, Home Care Managers, Care Home Managers

The ideal number would be 3 to 8 but we accept up to 13 on most courses

Depending on the course- short courses are up to three hours and long courses are up to five hours.

Each will benefit from the best personal tuition from a trainer with experience in the condition or skill. Workbooks are issued together with certificates upon successful completion.

Skills Training with practical will help delegates gain some competence in their skill, along with a signed competence from the trainer.
